Q&A

Questions, answered

How does Sippy work?
Open WhatsApp and message Sippy. Verify your number once and you can send or receive USDC dollars by chatting. No app to install.
What does Sippy cost?
Sippy charges a per-transaction fee and passes through the network cost (gas). Both are shown before you confirm and you can decline the operation. During promotional periods the fee can be zero; the network cost always applies. The current fee is $0, published at sippy.lat/disclosures. Funding or withdrawal partners (onramp / offramp providers) have their own costs.
Is my money safe?
You control your wallet through a smart contract authorization you grant, capped by the daily limit you set. You can revoke it anytime in settings. The key infrastructure is provided by an independent third party. Sippy does not access your funds.
What if I lose access to my WhatsApp?
The recovery email is optional. If you added one, it lets you recover access to your wallet at sippy.lat/setup and raises your daily limit. Sippy does not access your funds or keys through this email.
Can I block or mute the Sippy chat?
Yes. Sippy is just a contact in WhatsApp, so you can block, mute, or archive it from WhatsApp itself like any other chat. Your wallet stays active, and you can unblock whenever you want to come back.
Will Sippy ever ask for my password or codes?
Never. Sippy will not ask you for passwords, recovery phrases, or verification codes through chat. If someone messages you claiming to be Sippy support and asks for any of those, it is a scam.
What if someone pretends to be Sippy?
Our only official number is the one shown on sippy.lat. We do not have agents or representatives who message you proactively. If someone does, ignore and block them.
Do I need an app or a bank account?
Neither. Sippy lives inside WhatsApp, nothing to download. And you do not need a bank account: anyone with WhatsApp can send and receive USDC.
